DAV Degree College, Aishbagh Road, Moti Nagar, Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh is one of the very old and prestigious College of Lucknow. It was established in July 1918 in Ganeshganj locality of old Lucknow as DAV College, by renowned and most popular social worker of that time Late Pandit Rhas Bihari Tiwari Ji, in the form of a Middle School. In the year 1920, this College was upgraded to High School. In the year 1942, this College was further upgraded to Intermediate level. After the demise of respected Pandit Rhas Behari Tiwari Ji, a very erudite and learned advocate Sri Bhrigu Dutt Tiwari Ji became the Manager of this prestigious institution. In fact, advocate Sri Bhrigu Dutt Tiwari Ji was both a social worker as well as a freedom fighter. Under the able guidance of Sri Bhrigu Dutt Tiwari Ji, DAV Degree College was established in the year 1948. The DAV Degree College initially established its Science faculty in 1948. In the year 1954 Arts faculty was established and many departments like Political Science Sociology, Hindi, English, Ancient Indian History, Economics etc was started. In the session 1972-1973, the LL.B. 3 Year Degree Course Classes was started under the supervision and guidance of Sri Manmohan Tiwari Ji, our present Manager, who is a renowned personality and social worker of Lucknow. Further, the Post-Graduate classes was started in the session 1994-1995 in Ancient Indian History department under Self-Finance scheme. The present Manager of DAV Post-Graduate College, Aishbagh Road, Moti Nagar, Lucknow is Sri Manmohan Tiwari Ji. The founders of this College envisioned to impart education to all the sections of the society to empower them as a class of intellectually, morally and spiritually sound and committed citizens who will become not only professionally qualified but also have a vision for the betterment of the society and the building of the Nation. This vision was based on principle of equality, liberty and fraternity enshrined in our constitution. The vision and mission of this college is reflected in the admission process of the students, the conduct of the teaching faculties, the quality education and in the thrust on extracurricular activities of the students along with academic excellence.

DAV Degree College, Lucknow is a Government Grant-in-Aid College of Lucknow. It is an associated College of University of Lucknow, Lucknow. Spread over 25 acres, the campus is lush green and environment friendly. DAV Degree College, Lucknow is hardly 01 KM from Charbagh Railway Station and Aishbagh Railway Station, Lucknow. It offers graduate courses in Arts, Science and Law. It also offers M.A. in Ancient Indian History. The courses run by DAV Degree College, Lucknow is duly approved by both UGC and BCI. For the effective curriculum delivery and transaction on the Curriculum, the following initiatives have been taken up:

Teachers are trained to use ICT technology, such as, Xerox Machines, TV, VCR, Audio Players, Multimedia Projectors, Smart Boards and Multimedia CDs for effective curriculum delivery and transaction on the curriculum.
In order to meet the demands of curriculum of computer & IT related courses, the college has well equipped computer lab smart class rooms with latest configuration.
The college organizes conferences, seminars, symposia and board meetings etc. to meet the needs of curriculum delivery on a regular interval during every academic session.
Students are properly guided & encouraged to visit the library for their knowledge up-gradation. The richly-stacked college library has above 71,000 books, 30 National and International Journals are annually subscribed and 20 Newspapers and 25 magazines are available for the general readers/ visitors of the Library. In addition to this, students of the college are also taken to a visit of other well-known libraries to upgrade their knowledge in different subjects.
